Stenhouse Jr. at Richmond International Raceway
Stenhouse has five career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at Richmond with an average starting position of 18.6 and average finishing position of 23.6.
In 2013, Stenhouse scored his first career NSCS top-10 finish as a rookie at Richmond.
Last time at Richmond
After rain postponed the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Richmond International Raceway until Sunday afternoon, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. fought an ill-handling Ford for a majority of the 400-lap race, eventually taking the checkered flag in the 28th position.
Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Richmond:
“This is our last chance to make the Chase so we have to win. We struggled at Richmond earlier this season but we think we have definitely made some gains since then. This is a long race so if you can stay on the lead lap then you can leave with a decent finish.”
Nick Sandler on racing at Richmond:
“We have to win this weekend to get in the Chase so we are putting it all on the table. We’ve had some success with our short track program this year. Richmond is tough because we practice during the day but race at night so you don’t want to over adjust on your car because the track will be different at night. Track position and pit strategy are important because it is easy to go a lap down so if we can capitalize on these two things then we should be able to leave Richmond with a solid finish in our Cargill/Sam’s Club Ford.”
