Pruett Returns to Fastenal Dodge
Pruett back to Fastenal: Scott Pruett last sat in the seat of the No.40 Fastenal Dodge back in April for the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Corona 200 at Mexico. Pruett spent the majority of his weekend as one of the top cars. He qualified on the outside pole after putting up a dominate showing in practice. Despite late fuel troubles and an ill-handling car, Pruett led 36 of 80 laps bringing his CGRFS Dodge home in third place.
Grand-Am Success: In addition to helping CGRFS in the Nationwide Series, Pruett drives the No.01 TELMEX Lexus Riley in the Rolex Grand-Am Series. In five full seasons of Grand-Am competition, he has made 63 starts and captured 22 poles, 42 podium finishes and 20 wins. Pruett competes in the series with teammate Memo Rojas. This season alone the team has 1 pole and six wins. They currently lead driver and team standings.
Pruett in Nationwide: Pruett has 10 career Nationwide Series starts across six non-consecutive seasons. The veteran road course racer has two poles, two top fives and four top 10s. His average start is 10th and average finish is 15th. Throughout his career in the series Pruett has led a total of 83 laps.
Road Course Ringer: Since 2001, Pruett has made seven NASCAR Nationwide road course starts. His average qualifying position is fourth and average finish is 10th. He has two poles, one at Mexico City and one at Watkins Glen, and two top-five and four top-10 finishes. The veteran driver’s best finish on a road course and in Nationwide Series competition was a third-place finish at Mexico City earlier this year.
Standings Update: The No. 40 Fastenal Dodge lost one position in the owner standings after posting a 32nd-place finish at O’Reilly Raceway Park this past weekend. The team now sits in the 20th position.
Fastenal Racing Internship at CGRFS: This year, CGRFS is proud to partner with Fastenal to offer an internship to two automotive trade students. Participants in the program will get to spend one week at the CGRFS facility in Concord, N.C., learning what it takes to prepare a car for race day. They will also be flown to Texas Motor Speedway to support the team at track this upcoming November. The opportunity is available to graduates, or soon-to-be graduates of an automotive trade program.
