Franchitti in Fastenal Dodge this Weekend
Fast Franchitti: This past weekend at Watkins Glen International, the No. 40 Fastenal Dodge started on the pole for the third time this season. Dario Franchitti was behind the wheel, posting the fastest lap time of 72.696 seconds at 121.327 mph. It marked Franchitti’s career first NASCAR pole. He then went on to post his career-best NASCAR finish, as well, crossing the finish line in fifth place.
Standings Update: The No. 40 Fastenal Dodge held steady in owner standings this week, keeping them in 20th place. They are 192 points away from the 15th position and 344 points from the 10th position. In Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings Franchitti remains in third place, with 138 points. His No. 40 NNS teammate Bryan Clauson lost one spot, falling to second with 147 points.
Fastenal Racing Internship at CGRFS: This year, CGRFS is proud to partner with Fastenal to offer an internship to two automotive trade students. Participants in the program will get to spend one week at the CGRFS facility in Concord, N.C., learning what it takes to prepare a car for race day. They will also be flown to Texas Motor Speedway to support the team at track this upcoming November. The opportunity is available to graduates, or soon-to-be graduates of an automotive trade program.
