Edwards Looks Forward to "Home Trek" in St. Louis

July 15, 2010
Carl Edwards and the No. 60 team head to Gateway International Raceway Saturday for the running of the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250.  Qualifying can be seen live on ESPN2 at 4:30 PM EST with the race following at 8 PM EST.  The No. 60 will carry the Aflac colors this weekend before returning to the Fastenal paint scheme for the next three races starting the 24th at O"Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis.
Carl Edwards on racing at Gateway International Raceway:
"I can't wait to race at Gateway International Raceway.  It's a very unique and fun track.  There is no other track like it.  It has a long straightaway and turn 4 is a blast.  I consider it my home track and I will have a lot of friends and family there. I want to give them a great show.  We've had two big wins there and no wins have been bigger. Those wins there are as big as any of my Cup wins.  The Sprint Cup Series is off this weekend, but we will have Aflac on our car as the primary.  It would mean a lot to me and the whole team to get them in victory lane.  This is a big race and we are coming off a great points weekend.  It's time to build off of that, have fun and win."
Crew chief Drew Blickensderfer on racing at Gateway International Raceway:
“The uniqueness of two completely different ends of the race track makes Gateway a fun place to race.  Carl loves to race there since he is from Missouri, so it is a special place for us.  Gateway has the speeds of a speedway and corners that you need to drive like a short track.”
