Edwards Charlotte Preview

October 14, 2010

See Carl Edwards and the No. 60 Fastenal/Copart team in the Dollar General 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday evening, Oct. 15, 2010 with race coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN2.

Carl Edwards on racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway:

“I have been waiting to get back to Charlotte Motor Speedway.  It’s one of the fastest mile and a half tracks and it’s very challenging.  We’ve had our ups and downs there with the Nationwide Series Car.  We are testing all day Wednesday, so we should have a good idea on how we'll run there.  Racing at Charlotte, especially under the lights, is very exciting.  It’s especially fun racing in front of the team’s families and friends.  We do have the big picture in mind, owner’s points, and this is a race we can win.”

Crew chief Mike Beam on racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway:

“Charlotte is a big race, everyone wants to win at home. We’re taking the same car Carl drove a few weeks ago in Michigan. It’s been one of our strongest new Mustangs all year so I expect him to be out front in his Ford.”
