Clauson Returns to Daytona
Bryan at Daytona: This will be Clauson’s second start at Daytona International Speedway, a track where he scored one of his best finishes this 2008 season in only his sixth career NASCR Nationwide Series (NNS) start. After qualifying in the sixth position, the young driver hung in the top 15 for most of the race. Despite a pit stop penalty on lap 56, Clauson was able to return to the front of the field, race as high as fifth before settling in the sixth position to finish with the impressive top 10 and to also take Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors.
Head of the Class: Clauson is currently head of his NNS Raybestos® Rookie class. With a total of 128 points, he holds a 17-point lead over his fellow Fastenal Teammate and NNS rookie class contender Dario Franchitti.
The No. 40 at New Hampshire: Dario Franchitti was back in the No. 40 Fastenal Dodge this past weekend at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He qualified the car in the 10th position, and then battled a loose-handling race car and a late-race miscue with a trackbar wrench on pit road to finish 13th in his 10th NNS start of the 2008 season.
Fastenal Racing Internship at CGRFS: This year, CGRFS is proud to partner with Fastenal to offer an internship to two automotive trade students. Participants in the program will get to spend one week at the CGRFS facility in Concord, N.C., learning what it takes to prepare a car for race day. They will also be flown to Texas Motor Speedway to support the team at track. The opportunity is available to graduates, or soon-to-be graduates of an automotive trade program. Standings Updates: Clauson returns to the NNS this weekend 27th in driver standings, 33 points out of 25th and 715 points out of 15th. In the owner ranks, the No. 40 Fastenal Dodge Team is 17th, 60 points out of 15th and 190 points out of 10th.
