• Pocono Recap
o Carl Edwards battled back from an incident in qualifying, to move his No. 99 Fastenal Ford inside the top 10 in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway. However his Ford sustained substantial damage as he attempted to avoid a massive 13-car wreck on lap 117 of the 160-lap event.  The No. 99 team had to take the car to the garage for extensive repairs, with Edwards returning to finish the race 29th; three laps down.

• Edwards at the Glen
o Edwards has won a Nationwide Series race there in 2012 bringing his career total to 38 wins in the series.
o Edwards won his first Sprint Cup pole at the Glen in 2010 and has 4 Top-5’s. His average finish is 8.8 out of nine starts.

• The Car
o Primary chassis RK-917 was last run in 2014 at Sonoma, starting in the 4th spot and winning the race.
o Backup chassis RK-853 was last brought to Sonoma in 2014 as the back-up car.

Edwards on Watkins Glen:
“This is a race that I’ve been looking forward to all year.  I love road racing and coming off the win at Sonoma we feel like this is a great opportunity for our team to go get some bonus points and have a little more fun before the Chase starts.  It’s a huge weekend for our 99 team driving the Cheez-It Ford with Kellogg’s Cheez-It being the title sponsor of the race.  There’s tons of folks there from Kellogg’s and I get to go sign autographs this weekend at Watkins Glen for the fans.  Marcos Ambrose and Aric Almirola tested up there.  Hopefully they can help us like they did at Sonoma. The Nationwide win at the Glen was huge for me a couple years ago and we’ve been real close there in the Cup Series.  I’m just excited to go.  It’s a fun race track.  The fans are great. It’s a cool area of the country to visit.  At the end of the day, if we could get to Victory Lane with the Cheez-It Ford it would be really, really cool to turn all this effort into winning this race for Kellogg’s.”
