• Sonoma Recap
o Roush Fenway Racing’s Carl Edwards turned in a dominate performance in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway, taking the lead and pulling away late in his No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion for the first NSCS road racing win of his career. The No. 99 Aflac crew enacted a two-stop plan and stuck with it, pitting for the first time under caution on lap 30 and then under green on lap 70. A timely caution following the team’s second stop, forced the majority of the field to pit, placing the No.99 Aflac Ford Fusion in fourth on the restart. Edwards took the lead on the next restart and pulled away from the field, holding off Jeff Gordon to bring home his second checkered flag of the season.

Edwards on Kentucky Speedway
“A month or so ago we went down to Kentucky and did a great event with Speedway Children’s Charities and the media about the Triple Crown, the truck race, Nationwide race and the Cup race. It would be a blast to be able to do that this weekend. My first win in NASCAR came at Kentucky in the truck series driving a Ford F-150. We’ve had a lot of success in the Nationwide Series and for that reason it would be really special for me to be able to win in the UPS Ford. With the UPS hub just down the road and all of the thousands of UPS employees and supporters it would be really special to win there. Last week was a blast, we are in the Chase. We will just go out and have some fun and hopefully get some more wins before the regular season is over.”
